Where the Wonder Began.
From the Rainbow Factory to The Wonder Company
On 6 June 2015, we opened the doors to the Rainbow Factory - an immersive storytelling experience where children could step inside the worlds of their favourite stories. Through theatrical adventures, imaginative settings and creative activities, we welcomed thousands of children and discovered just how powerful storytelling could be.
For five wonderful years, the Rainbow Factory brought stories to life. Then, in 2020, COVID-19 changed everything. Like so many businesses, we had to close our doors and rethink what the future might look like.
But the wonder didn’t end there.
We took everything the Rainbow Factory had taught us about imagination, engagement and creating experiences children genuinely connect with - and found a new way to share it. We began developing activity books, creative packs and inspiring resources that could reach children wherever they were.
That new chapter became The Wonder Company.
Today, we work with organisations across the UK to transform important ideas and messages into meaningful experiences for children and young people. Our work may look different now, but the purpose behind it has never changed: to spark curiosity, inspire imagination and create moments of wonder that children remember.

2015 -
Rainbow Factory
On 6 June 2015, the Rainbow Factory opened its doors. Our immersive storytelling venue invited children to step inside magical worlds brought to life through theatre, imagination and creative play.
2020 -
Everything Changed
When COVID-19 forced the Rainbow Factory to close, we faced an unexpected turning point. We couldn’t welcome children into our world—so we began exploring how we could take that wonder to them.
2020 - 2021
A New Chapter Begins
We used everything we had learned about storytelling and children’s engagement to create activity books, creative packs and inspiring resources that could be enjoyed anywhere.

Five Years of Storytelling
Over five wonderful years, we welcomed thousands of children and families. Every experience taught us more about what captures children’s imaginations, builds their confidence and keeps them meaningfully engaged.
The Wonder Company Is Born
The Rainbow Factory evolved into The Wonder Company: a creative publishing and product development business dedicated to helping organisations engage, educate and inspire children and young people

Creating Wonder Across the UK
Today, we work with councils, schools, holiday clubs, charities, sporting organisations and community groups across the UK. From the first spark of an idea to design, print, packing and delivery, we create meaningful experiences that turn important messages into something children genuinely want to explore.
2021 -
The Story Continues…
We may have started with one magical doorway, but our work now reaches children far beyond it. As we continue to grow, our purpose remains the same: to spark curiosity, inspire imagination and create moments of wonder that last.
